How Hey Gigi Baby Began: A Story of First Trips, First Mistakes, and One Big Idea

Becoming a first-time mom changes everything.

Before our daughter Elara was born, my husband Edward and I loved moving—long walks, spontaneous plans, early flights, late dinners. We always imagined that parenthood wouldn’t mean stopping, just slowing down a little. Still curious. Still playful. Still us.

When Elara was seven months old, we decided to take our first big step as parents who go: a family trip to the Big Island of Hawaii.

We packed carefully.
Clothes for every temperature.
Extra diapers.
Backup pacifiers.
Bottles, formula, snacks, wipes—everything.

Or so we thought.

The Moment Every Parent Knows

The first evening in our hotel, after a full day of flights, time changes, and a very alert baby, we finally settled in. Elara finished her bottle. I walked to the sink—and froze.

No baby dish soap.
No bottle brush.

That quiet panic set in. The kind every parent knows. How did we forget this?

We drove to a nearby Target, tired but hopeful. Surely this would be easy to fix.

It wasn’t.

The shelves were full, but nothing was truly convenient. The bottles were bulky. The brushes awkward. Nothing felt designed for parents who were already juggling a baby, luggage, schedules, and exhaustion. Nothing felt… smart.

Standing there, jet-lagged and frustrated, a simple thought crossed my mind:

Why does something this basic feel so hard?

A First-Time Mom’s Perspective

That night, back at the hotel, washing bottles felt like a chore stacked on top of an already full day. I remember thinking that travel with a baby shouldn’t feel this stressful over such a small thing.

I didn’t want perfection.
I didn’t want luxury.
I just wanted ease.

I wanted something simple. Something thoughtful. Something that said, “You’re doing great. I’ve got you.”

That was the seed of Hey Gigi Baby.

From One Family to Many

Hey Gigi Baby was born from that very real moment—not in a boardroom, but in a hotel sink, after a long travel day, with tired hands and a sleeping baby nearby.

I built this brand for parents like us:

  • Smart, intentional moms and dads

  • Families who love being out in the world together

  • Parents who don’t want stress to steal the joy from those special moments

At its heart, Hey Gigi Baby is about removing friction. Making everyday baby care feel lighter. Helping parents feel confident and calm, wherever life takes them.

Built with Care, for Real Life

As a first-time mom, I learned quickly that convenience isn’t about cutting corners—it’s about protecting energy. Energy for laughter. For memories. For being present with your baby.

Hey Gigi Baby exists to support that mindset.

Not loud.
Not complicated.
Just smart, gentle help—right when you need it.

Gigi’s Got You

Looking back, that forgotten bottle brush was a gift in disguise. It showed me a gap. And more importantly, it showed me how many parents quietly deal with the same stress every day.

Hey Gigi Baby is my way of saying:
You’re not alone.
You’re doing an amazing job.
And Gigi’s got you.
